The Kershaw Knockout 1870OLBLK is a big knife with small weight, thanks to the aluminum handle and stainless steel knockout to lock the blade in place. Too have such a large knife with the light weight required having an aluminum handle. However, when you need to lock the blade in place you need something better than aluminum on the framelock. The solution Kershaw came up with was to knock out the piece of the frame where the lock goes and replace it with stainless steel.
